Founder of 1000Kings Movement

Makhosi Nkosi, professionally known as 1000Kings, is a registered artist under SAMRO, RISA, and SAMPRA. A seasoned DJ, music producer, and entrepreneur, he has been an influential figure in South Africa’s music and entertainment industry for decades.

🚫Early Beginnings

1000Kings began his journey as a dancer and DJ in December 1992 in his hometown, Ermelo, Mpumalanga, while still in high school. His passion for music and performance led him to explore various facets of the industry in JHB when he left Mpumalanga in 1998, establishing a reputation as a dynamic entertainer.

In 2011, upon returning to Ermelo from Johannesburg, 1000Kings established 1000Kings Movement (Reg. in 2014), a company dedicated to grooming upcoming musicians, DJs, producers, and dancers, as well as offering sound hire and event management services. Since its inception in 2012, the movement has opened doors for over 60 DJs, musicians, and dancers across Mpumalanga.

🚫Musical Theatre & TV Appearances

1000Kings was a former member of Ingoma, a musical theatre group based in Yeoville, Johannesburg, performing at Windybrow Theatre, Hillbrow Theatre, and Braamfontein Civic Centre.

He also appeared as a dancer on SABC1’s Gumba Fire, hosted by DJ Sbu and Glen Lewis, performing for Mr. Dust’s track "Ukudla Ngidlile".

2012: Featured in Genesis EP, released globally on platforms like Juno Download, Traxsource, Beatport, and BBM Music.
